STOP SUMMER BRAIN DRAIN

Many fantastic learning activities are available during the summer months at little to no cost. Get books from the library about beaches, visit a local beach (lake beaches count, too), and then talk about their experiences. What did the students see? What did they hear? How is the beach different from other places? Perhaps have them write a few paragraphs in a summer journal about the day and have them add some drawings of what they saw. Use our beach spelling list to play games online, create your own list, and use our worksheets. Active learning is committed to memory faster than passive learning, so have fun out there this summer!
